What is the role of a Financial Planner? As a Financial Planner, you will focus on developing and deepening mass affluent client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • External clients – Engage in proactive client outreach to individuals outside the Scotiabank network, showcasing the unique value a Financial Planner brings to their financial journey.
  • Internal clients – Play a pivotal role in deepening client relationships by identifying and engaging with existing Scotiabank clients who may have limited interaction with the bank.

As a Financial Planner, you are driven by purpose and determination, understanding that your clients are your most valuable asset. Your top priority is delivering personalized investment and financial planning advice that empowers them to achieve their unique financial goals with confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Drive investment sales and new client acquisition, while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish business development opportunities with prospects and clients within the assigned market area.

In this role, you will promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area by executing on business development plans, providing client-centric investment solutions, and participating actively in local professional and community events.

Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Mutual fund certified professional with current accreditation and good standing for CIRO licensing requirements.
  • Successfully completed a Personal Financial Planning (PFP) designation and/or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Proven networking, client acquisition, and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal-oriented and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
