Job Purpose

When you visit a Coast branch, you’re greeted with a line of smiling faces ready to help you with your everyday banking needs. Our friendly Member Advice Specialists are sales and customer service superstars who bring our “How can we help you?” brand to life with every member they interact with. Imagine helping our members with fulfilling basic personal credit needs, selling and handling low fee products, setting up electronic services like internet banking, opening free Chequing accounts, and adding overdraft protection to help avoid NSF charges. Members also rely on you to identify opportunities where we can better help them with our products and services, and to connect them with the right teammate when needed.

Accountabilities
  • Getting a natural high from delivering positive and unexpected customer experience through general retail banking
  • Engaging customers in the “Where You Are At Money Chat” to help them save, grow, protect and improve their financial well-being
  • Working as a high-performing team member within the branch to ensure checks and balances around policies and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively and creatively offer helpful solutions and alternatives to customer inquiries
  • Achieving sales and referrals targets in a needs-based sales environment
Skills & Qualifications
  • Comfort with basic math; ability to assist customers with simple financial needs and promote Coast Capital products and services
  • Experience helping members in a bank or credit union, preferably with lending and investments and identifying sales/referral opportunities
  • Post-secondary education in finance, business administration or related field; desire to continue learning
  • Certificate in Investment Funds in Canada is a requirement
  • Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people and help them with simple financial needs
  • Strong teamwork and daily demonstration of team spirit
  • Multitasking, prioritization, organization, and high attention to detail
