Financial Manager – Retrokid Inc.
Full-time, in-office (3 days per week)/remote hybrid
$80,000 annually
Founded in 2019, Retrokid has quickly become one of North America’s fastest growing pop culture brands celebrating childhood memories, forgotten favourites, authentic collaborations, timeless designs, original product designs, and elevated apparel.
Partnering with some of the industry’s biggest studios, Retrokid has seen incredible success merchandising classic brands including Harry Potter, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Flintstones, and has become the leading partner to re-establish forgotten brands like The Big Comfy Couch, Arthur, SCTV, and Polly Pocket.
With a strong focus on selling emotion and curating childhood memories through premium apparel and accessories, Retrokid is poised to change the pop-culture landscape with expansion into larger studio collaborations, live events, extended product lines, and one of a kind pop-up experiences.
Retrokid is seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Finance Manager to lead and oversee all financial operations at our Canadian and US entity. This role is responsible for managing the full financial ecosystem of the business, including accounting systems, internal controls, bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance (through a 3rd party agency), and corporate reporting. The Finance Manager will own the preparation and management of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights. This role will also manage QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll and ensure all filings and reporting obligations are met in both Canada and the United States.
Beyond day-to-day financial management, this role serves as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, functioning as a financial steward of the company and helping guide major business decisions. The Finance Manager will conduct high-level financial analysis, support contract reviews, respond to information requests from leadership, and deliver monthly financial reporting to the CEO and VP. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with strategic business acumen and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
This position plays a critical role in supporting Retrokid’s continued growth by driving financial clarity, improving operational efficiency, optimizing costs, and helping ensure long-term financial sustainability. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and bring a collaborative approach to supporting cross-functional teams and company leadership.
The candidate would ideally be located in the Greater Toronto Area where the senior team lives; however, this is not a requirement of the position.
