Job Description

Our team of Field Service Technicians is dedicated to providing exceptional support and service to our customers worldwide. Working both independently and collaboratively, our technicians ensure the successful installation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment at customer sites. This position requires frequent travel, estimated between 60‑75 % of the time. We are seeking skilled Field Service Technicians who are passionate about delivering high‑quality customer service and are adept at finding innovative technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities / Complexities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues on equipment at customer sites, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the installation, startup, and testing of new equipment, providing guidance to customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance practices.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and diplomacy.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
Required Education and Experience
  • A two‑year post‑high‑school diploma/certificate in electro‑mechanical technology and a minimum of 3 years related experience, OR a high‑school diploma and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems, with a solid understanding of material handling practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as engineering documents, operation and maintenance instructions, bills of materials, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of leaders, clients, and customers.
  • Strong time‑management skills to balance multiple projects with the potential of phone calls and simultaneous inquiries.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of VFD functions, operations, and programming.
  • Experience with Pressure Sensitive Labeling Machines preferred or Converting Equipment for Shrink Sleeve Labels and Flexible Packaging.
  • HMI programming knowledge of GE Proficy, Exor, and Allen Bradley desired.
  • Motion control experience with Allen Bradley and Control Techniques/SyPT desired.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and troubleshooting pneumatic and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring and complete I/O checks.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Robotics experience is advantageous.
Work Environment
  • Field Service Technicians work primarily in our customer manufacturing plants and will be exposed to typical machine shop physical hazards. Travel expectations may require extended time away from home 60‑75 %.
Physical Demands
  • May involve standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires normal mental and visual attention to perform various duties.
Travel
  • 60‑75 % travel within North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) region is expected, with occasional international travel.
Position Type
  • This is a non‑exempt, regular, full‑time position, with the understanding that the workweek may require extended days and hours to meet business needs.

The approximate pay range for this position is $30 CAD – $40 CAD per hour.
