Qualifications

What You’ll Do
  • As a Field Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering on Dyno Nobel solutions offerings. You will develop and maintain customer relationships as a subject matter expert to provide recommendations for best practices and applications supported by measurement of key metrics.
  • Technical solutions require project scoping, measurement of KPI’s and execution of recommendations.
  • Position will develop and maintain customer relationships as a subject matter expert to provide recommendations for best practices and applications supported by measurement of key metrics.
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure Safe Act Observations, Job Safety Analyses, Take 5’s, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Manage individual project related expenses (materials & travel).
  • Contribute to achieving budgeted customer profitability as measured by EBIT.
  • Management of all company assets to assist with achieving Company goals.
  • Conduct pre-blast surveys e.g. face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry measurements, product sampling, safety audits, etc.
  • Conduct blast performance measurements, e.g. digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, velocity of detonation, dynamic pressure, etc.
  • Conduct post blast assessments, etc. fragmentation measurement, time studies, volumetric measurements, blast reporting & documentation.
  • Conduct time studies on personnel and equipment throughout an operation including: drill and blast operations, truck-shovel loading, dragline, processing, etc.
  • Respond professionally and timely to address problems and business requests.
  • Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
  • Communicate effectively with all DynoConsult engineers and personnel.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining, Geo-technical, Mineral, and/or Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering preferred. Experience in the mining industry and advanced technical knowledge may be substituted for formal degree.
  • Experience in construction, mining and/or explosive industry in both surface and underground mining.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure customer environment.
  • Experience in using current instrumentation and software prevalent in the industry for advanced blasting design is preferred
  • Travel (60%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed.
