About the Opportunity

Hiiye’yu Lelum (House of Friendship) Society is looking for a full-time FASD Program Coordinator based in Duncan, BC.

Reporting to the Executive Director, with day-to-day guidance from the Clinical Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the FASD Program by supporting children, youth, and families impacted by FASD or other complex developmental conditions, while overseeing one part-time staff member and ensuring effective program delivery.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for providing client-focused outreach and advocacy, connecting families with resources and assessments, and promoting awareness of FASD within the community.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct outreach and support to children, youth, families, and caregivers
  • Assisting families in interpreting and implementing assessments and navigating services
  • Educating families and the community about FASD and related developmental conditions
  • Making appropriate referrals to internal programmes, external agencies, or professionals
  • Offering workshops or presentations to increase awareness and community engagement
  • Overseeing caseload distribution and supporting one part-time program staff
  • Maintaining accurate client records and preparing reports and statistics in Nucleus
  • Applying a trauma-informed, culturally grounded, client-centred approach in all interactions

About You

To qualify, you will need a bachelor’s degree in a human or social services field, or an equivalent relevant certification, along with 2–5 years of direct experience working with youth and families in related support roles. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.

The following are also required:

  • Ability to undergo a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check
  • A valid Class 5 license and a reliable vehicle

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Proven experience supporting youth facing complex behavioural or developmental challenges
  • Knowledge of FASD, neurodiversity, and complex developmental conditions
  • Understanding of Indigenous cultures, practices, and cultural protocols
  • Proficiency with databases such as Nucleus and other computer applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and community partners
  • Ability to manage caseloads, meet reporting requirements, and maintain accurate records
  • Organisational skills to balance client support with administrative duties
  • Trauma-informed, client-centred, and culturally grounded approach
