Job Overview

The University of Lethbridge seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Neuroscience. Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Neuroscience or a related field, postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of research across the lifespan in nonhuman animals, employing systems‑level approaches and state‑of‑the‑art methods such as electrophysiology, disease models, and transcriptomics. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2026, with a salary range of $79,132–$98,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Mount an externally funded research program that includes undergraduate and graduate students. • Teach required courses for the undergraduate Neuroscience program and, ideally, a cellular and molecular neuroscience course and other advanced courses. • Engage and inspire students in their academic work and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Neuroscience or a cognate discipline. • Postdoctoral experience. • Demonstrated excellence in research on brain function across the lifespan in non‑human animals. • Experience with modern electrophysiological techniques, models of brain disease, and/or transcriptomics is especially encouraged.
