BCIT’s School of Transportation is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty, Marine Engineering to instruct/facilitate Ship Construction, Naval Architecture, Drafting, Engineering Knowledge, Electrotechnology/High Voltage, Automation and Control, Applied Engineering Sciences and workshop courses. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience into the classroom, develop course and program curriculum, address relevant operational and educational issues, and cultivate positive relationships with students. BCIT is one of Canada’s largest post-secondary institutes, with more than 45,000 students enrolled in certificate, diploma, apprenticeship and degree programs. The Marine Campus, located in North Vancouver, is a premier provider of marine training in Canada. Many instructors are marine engineers with worldwide and local experience, delivering a wide variety of marine engineering courses.
This position not only involves teaching marine engineering concepts but also requires a person who will: motivate students to learn; provide an inclusive, diverse and safe learning environment in the classroom, laboratory and workshop; teach employability skills and assist with time management; provide mentorship and support for students who are struggling, and challenge those who are excelling. Salary Range: $78,133 - $115,805 per annum.
