The Facilities Specialist (Journeyman Millwright) works to maximize equipment utilization, efficiency, and performance, while providing industrial and mechanical expertise. The position is responsible for maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Facilities Specialist focuses on the application of knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other warehouse equipment and repairs as needed.
The Facilities Specialist is required to be a fully competent individual with broad mechanical knowledge and proven hands-on experience. Being able to complete job tasks independently with minimal supervision is a must.
The Facilities Specialist will provide resolutions to a wide range of complex problems with judgment within defined policies and practices, contribute to development of procedures, goals and objectives and frequently work with other internal resources as well as with outside contractors and suppliers.
Diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning mechanical operating systems, equipment, and components by using manuals, schematic diagrams, and electronic test equipment to locate and repair faults and operational problems.
Performing routine daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance programs of mechanical operating systems, rotating equipment to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to avoid failure of equipment.
Work troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery, overhauling gearboxes, and replacing bearings, etc.
Perform work in a manner consistent with plant safety, housekeeping standards, and quality checks.
Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot machine problems and devise solutions.
Developing and recommending improvements, design changes or modifications to mechanical systems, equipment, or procedures
Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Director of Operations (DO) and Sr. Manager
Assisting in inventory audits of spare parts to ensure availability of replacement parts and equipment.
Advising the DO and Sr. Manager of hazards, defects, or unsafe conditions on or off the equipment
Recording equipment deterioration to determine whether continued operation of rotating equipment could be hazardous.
Scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs with other departments that may be affected by these activities.
Assisting in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard free work areas.

Building and repairing wooden structures, such as furniture, doors, and window frames.
General Plumbing
Maintaining outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and planting flowers.
General Repairs: Fixing broken appliances, repairing drywall, and performing other general maintenance tasks.
Valid Journeyman Millwright license
Outstanding work ethic with exceptional discipline, attendance, and safety record
5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Computer familiarity and capable of adapting to new computer program.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Proficiency on industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, and components, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, compressors, conveyors, and material handling systems.
Knowledgeable in repairing and performing routine maintenance on production equipment.
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work in an organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to respond to call-ins or overtime when required.
