Job Title: Facilities Operator – Full-Time
As a result of a vacancy, our Community Services Department is seeking to fill the role of Facilities Operator. Under the direction of the Foreperson of Community Services, provides facilities maintenance and supervision for municipal property and facilities. You will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of Municipal facilities including arenas, community centers, fire halls, parks, pools, splash pad, playgrounds, pavilions, sports fields, cemeteries, and the Port Blake Day Park. Your role will include maintenance activities including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, painting, and mechanical. You will be responsible for completing daily, weekly, and annual maintenance activities and inspections of facilities, equipment and play spaces.

Work involves a substantial amount of heavy lifting, carrying, crawling and climbing. Operations continue in all weather, including severe conditions. A high degree of mental alertness is required to ensure the safety of self and others as working with heavy equipment, vehicles, unpredictable traffic conditions, tools and hazardous chemicals is required. Hours of work are scheduled based on operational requirements by a rotational shift including days, evenings, and weekends. A flexible schedule is required to account for operational coverage outside of core hours, including emergencies, holidays, weekends, on-call and seasonal shifts.
