Facilities Manager

RED Mountain Resort | Full-Time, Year-Round

Salary: $75,000 annually

RED Mountain Resort is looking for a dynamic and hands‑on Facilities Manager to take a leadership role in creating an exceptional guest experience year-round. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the performance, safety, and presentation of all resort buildings, base‑area infrastructure, parking, and snow‑removal operations—ensuring everything runs seamlessly when it matters most.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all resort buildings and on‑mountain facilities.
  • Lead janitorial services with a strong focus on guest‑facing cleanliness standards.
  • Manage all parking, access, and snow‑removal operations.
  • Develop and lead seasonal readiness programs (winter and summer), inspections, and shutdowns.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all department staff.
  • Coordinate contractors, trades, and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with BC Building & Fire Codes, WorkSafeBC, and OHS requirements.
  • Maintain inspection logs, permits, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage operating budgets, contractor costs, and contribute to capital planning discussions.
Qualifications
  • Trade certification (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Millwright, or equivalent) or diploma in a related field.
  • Completion of or enrollment in a recognized Waste Water Treatment certification program would be considered an asset.
  • 5–8 years of facilities, building, maintenance, or janitorial operations experience.
  • 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a ski resort, mountain resort, or outdoor hospitality setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems and infrastructure.
Skills & Requirements
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, and Google Docs, Sheets and other computer programs.
  • Strong operational leadership and decision‑making under pressure.
  • High mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross‑department collaboration.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience.
  • Budget and contractor management experience.
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call‑outs.
  • Intermediate to advanced ski/snowboard ability.
