Job Description and Responsibilities

This role is essential for maintaining a smooth and efficient operation of the trommel system. Responsibilities include ensuring a consistent and productive flow of materials, performing minor repairs, and conducting regular maintenance and lubrication to keep equipment running optimally. Additionally, the individual is tasked with documenting daily delays to identify and address any issues promptly. A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment is also crucial, as this contributes to overall safety and efficiency in operations.

  • Observe and practice all company safety rules and policies
  • Ability to multitask in a progressive environment
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of troubleshooting and light mechanical repairs
  • Responsible for maintenance/lubrication and minor repairs of equipment associated with the DSS plant, including conveyors, shakers, compressors, trommel, and batch feeder, along with several types of sort equipment
  • Work closely with the loader operator to ensure efficient product flow in the input and output of the plant
  • Monitor the flow of product from a raw material state through to the finished product
  • Responsible for general cleanup
  • Responsible for accurately documenting daily delays
Requirements
  • High School diploma or CAEC/GED, or must pass a company comprehension assessment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with machinery
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting and pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Willingness to learn and work responsibly, following all safety procedures
  • Ability to monitor and motivate pickers (labourers) working on the trommel system
  • A proven history of reliability and mentally alert to surroundings
  • Good attention to detail and quality control
