A provincial government in Whitehorse seeks an Equity and Inclusion Specialist to lead its diversity and inclusion strategy. The successful candidate will develop programs to promote equality and strengthen inclusion across the organization. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and experience engaging with diverse groups. The government offers a comprehensive benefits plan and supports employee development. The position requires on-site work in Whitehorse, with occasional travel within Yukon.

The Equity and Inclusion Specialist leads the development of a corporate diversity and inclusion strategy to fulfill our People Plan, LGTBTQ2S Action Plan and Breaking Trail Together commitments to create an engaging and inclusive workplace experience, in culturally safe and supportive work environments. This role will develop and implement programs, projects and initiatives to promote equality, increase diversity and strengthen inclusion. As a subject matter expert, this role will collaborate with diverse populations to frame culturally safe and supportive work practices, and make recommendations to program areas to improve accessibility and inclusiveness. This role is for someone who is a champion of diversity, and enjoys engaging with others.
