Overview
As part of a national sales force, you contribute to RBC’s success by acquiring and retaining new clients. You will be responsible for providing professional advice and solutions to meet clients’ overall equipment financing needs while increasing revenue and client loyalty. You will prioritize and achieve business objectives through sales plans to acquire new clients and provide new or additional equipment financing solutions to existing RBC clients within your defined market territory. You will also need to provide targeted financial advice and solutions to meet the client’s business and financial goals. You will need to collaborate with internal stakeholders and other colleagues from different areas of RBC to drive client loyalty and deepen long-term profitable client relationships.
Responsibilities
Client Experience
- Build a prospect list, advance the relationship with each client and actively search for new clients to meet acquisition targets.
- Participate in banking / financial services industry activities, with a focus on the local market to further confirm industry and professional expertise.
- Establish and maintain an active referral network.
- Provide financial and business advice using a unique value proposition; present solutions that clearly describe the benefits to the client; help the client understand options, choose proposed solutions, and implement them.
- Identify opportunities and refer clients to RBC partners to meet broader advice needs.
- Understand client financial situations and leverage knowledge across RBC in pre-contact planning discussions for client meetings to maximize time and demonstrate business interest.
- Take ownership of customer problems at first contact by leveraging partners to effectively resolve problems.
Client Solutions and New Client Acquisition
- Develop a personal sales plan and review results; schedule monthly/quarterly meetings to adjust activities to meet the plan.
- Using input from applicable RBC partners, develop sales strategies that address the needs of all clients and prospects to increase revenue, profitability, and client loyalty; document Client Relationship Plan activities and track activities for each client strategy.
- Use tools to support sales routines, participate in team meetings, and document all communications and sales results in the Sales Pipeline tool; provide monthly/quarterly feedback on performance against goals.
- Expand network of internal and external contacts to leverage business opportunities and referrals; develop industry expertise as required.
- Act as the primary resource for partners to introduce COIs and/or support new client acquisition through business development activities.

Must-Have’s
- Proven sales ability to consistently meet and exceed sales targets
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements
- Strong sales techniques and understanding of business strategies to sell equipment financing solutions
- Ability to work independently remotely
- Ability to develop strong networks of business and industry relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to assess credit and minimize risk
- Great desire for achievement
- Demonstrates innovation and global perspective
- Use of tools such as Synergie, IPI, Lead
- External representation by presentation or participation in events
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking needs.
Assets
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as a Relationship Manager, Commercial Financial Services
