Job description
Environmental Technician I

1 Year Term

We are looking for an Environmental Technician I for a 1-year term, to perform environmental protection duties at the Glenmore Landfill. You will be responsible for the inspection, operation and monitoring of landfill and composting equipment, and the collection and interpretation of data for regulatory compliance. The position primarily focuses on organics management, compost production and assists with the landfill gas system. Work collaboratively to reduce the production of environmental emissions, troubleshoots equipment, and assists in the installation of materials to improve operations from an environmental perspective.

The successful candidate will have completed a Diploma in Environmental Sciences or related field. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

This is a CUPE bargaining unit position working 40 hours per week, with a rating starting at $38.80 per hour plus 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
