This role is accountable for cultivating and sustaining an exceptional client-centric culture, where every decision and action prioritizes client needs and experience, while simultaneously upholding the highest standards of operational excellence in safety, quality, innovation, and technical support. The Manager is expected to lead by example, ensuring that both client satisfaction and operational performance are at the core of all activities. Through these activities, the Manager is expected to maintain strong financial performance in-line with budget while driving a growth agenda.
Lead by example in promoting and upholding ALS Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and programs. Ensure that safety is embedded in every process and decision, and that all team members are empowered and accountable for achieving individual and business HSE targets.
Oversee and continuously improve quality program mandates, including routine checks, staff training, audits, and timely resolution of quality issues. Foster a culture where quality is non-negotiable and directly linked to client satisfaction and operational success.
Champion a client-first mindset across all teams, ensuring that every interaction and process is designed to exceed client expectations, especially from a quality and operational perspective. Continuously seek and act on employee and industry feedback to drive service improvements and innovation.
Promote a culture where operational discipline and client-centricity are mutually reinforcing, ensuring that operational excellence directly supports outstanding client outcomes. Recognize and celebrate behaviours that exemplify both exceptional service to clients and adherence to best-in-class operational standards.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement, regular meetings, and a deep understanding of client needs.
Initiate and support projects that enhance brand leadership, competitive advantage, and operational excellence. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement where new ideas are welcomed and implemented to benefit clients and the business.
Drive profitable growth through innovation, cost control, and strategic business development.
Develop and execute the annual operating budget and business plan to meet or exceed key performance indicators.
Maintain disciplined cost management and operational efficiency, ensuring resources are optimized to support both productivity and service excellence.
Monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and coach sectional managers to achieve and surpass financial goals.
Promote a high-performance culture by supporting employee development, cross-training, and talent identification. Encourage feedback, recognize contributions, and create an environment where employees are motivated to excel in safety, quality, service, and operational performance.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or technical diploma in chemistry or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of management experience in the environmental industry or a production laboratory environment.
Ability to perform general office work, including prolonged periods of sitting.
Ability to work with a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Potential exposure to unpleasant odours.
