Enterprise Systems Project Analyst

Working at the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) means being part of a supportive, innovative community that works towards doing what is best for students and helping every individual achieve success. We proudly serve over 43,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in Niagara, located between Lake Erie in the South and Lake Ontario to the North.

The Enterprise Systems Project analyst, reporting to the Manager of Information Technology Services, provides organization-wide leadership in system planning, project delivery, training, and emerging technology adoption across the district.

This role is responsible for leading IT projects, coordinating cross-departmental initiatives, and supporting the consistent, effective use of enterprise systems across Corporate Services and instructional support areas.

The Information Technology Services Dept. requires an innovative, energetic professional to work within the board's continuously evolving, multi-tiered computing environment. The applicant must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate strengths in the following areas:
  • Experience with LMS, SIS, HRP and other enterprise education systems
  • Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Education data standards, privacy & security requirements (MFIPPA, FIPPA, VASP etc)
  • Leading and coordinating cross-departmental projects/enterprise projects
  • Developing training materials, guidelines for safe use, technical documentation and the delivery of professional development support and training
  • Ability to assess vendor solutions and AI offerings for privacy, bias and appropriateness in K‑12 environments
  • Commitment to client satisfaction in producing efficient, sustainable enterprise solutions
  • Strong analytic, communication and organizational skills in administering enterprise scale project management methodologies
  • Curiosity for new learning and adapting to changing standards/contexts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of K‑12 educational environments and workflows
Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree/3-year college in computer studies, information technology or computer science‑ related field and deemed equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a K‑12 educational or related, enterprise environment.
  • Project management certifications (e.g. – PMI/PMP, CAPM, Sig sigma green/black belt, COMPTIA Project+) is an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Able to translate business requirements into technical tasks and project plans, documentation
  • Understands system integrations, data flows and process mapping with Microsoft, Google, Aspen, Sparkrock, IPPS etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft O365 & Google for Education platform tools, architectures, databases, API's, automation toolsets, Copilot etc.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security best practices and consent models related to AI use in K‑12 environments
Key Responsibilities
  • IT Project Leadership and Delivery
  • Acting as project leader for enterprise‑level initiatives within the IT Department, Corporate Services departments and instructional support areas
  • Enterprise Training strategy, curation and change management
  • Provides leadership and coordination for organization‑wide training and change management (to change enablement) for enterprise systems and Board initiatives
  • Stakeholder Liaison and Cross‑Departmental Collaboration
  • Acts as a central liaison between IT and Board departments
  • AI Strategy, Governance and Adoption
  • Leads the exploration and responsible adoption of AI within enterprise systems across the Board
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Details

This is an in‑person (not remote)permanentfull‑time,12‑month, 35 hour per week position and is part of the Board's union‑exempt Administrative Management Group.

Salary Range: $79,030 - $92,378 and includes a comprehensive benefit planthrough a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, life insurance, AD&D), and enrolment in the OMERS pension plan.
