A local government authority in Nisku is seeking an Engineering Student for the May to August season. This role involves providing technical support for the County’s infrastructure projects including roads, water distribution, and sewer systems. Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Student to join our team for the May – August Season. Reporting to the Manager - Engineering, this exciting opportunity assists in providing technical support to the County’s gravel roads program, transportation, water distribution, sanitary sewer, and land drainage operations. As a member of the Engineering team, the Engineering Student contributes to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

You enjoy the outdoors and can handle some moderate physical effort such as lifting, moving or pulling heavy objects on an occasional basis. Must be enrolled in a civil engineering program, completed a minimum of one year of coursework, and a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of municipal water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure and working with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Geographic Information System (GIS) is considered an asset.
Experience in road construction (gravel and surfaced), bridges, culverts, water and wastewater systems and familiarity with municipal operations, and knowledge of rural communities are assets.
We offer a competitive hourly salary of between $22.65 - $28.31. This opportunity is seasonal full time and is 35 hours per week scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with the possibility of some extended hours to meet operational requirements. The office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
