Pier Solutions is growing – we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to strengthen our engineering team in Saskatchewan. As a Pier Solutions design engineer, you will be tasked with assisting in the management of construction projects and providing technical services. Responsibilities
  • Leading multiple projects at a time, both on-site and from your office.
  • Supporting all aspects of construction work, including:
  • developing proposals for various contract models;
  • preparing estimates for quoted and tendered work;
  • on-site labour to assist construction crews;
  • managing schedules, materials, and subcontractors;
  • aiding in job cost tracking;
  • preparing and submitting environmental management plans;
  • supporting safety coordinator in completing daily and project-specific safety requirements;
  • reporting on project progress, offering viable solutions and opportunities as they arise; and
  • submitting and tracking RFIs, change orders, and site instructions.
  • Providing technical services, including:
  • bridge/structure inspections, maintenance plans, load ratings, as well as other design services;
  • writing technical reports and reviewing proposals and estimates.
  • Communicating customer issues and devising ways for improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Responsibilities will be added over time.

    Other Requirements
    • Civil tech diploma or civil engineering degree.
    • At least three years of project management and/or bridge engineering experience is preferred.
    • At least five years of experience within the construction industry is preferred.
    • Some bridge experience is an asset, but not required.
    • Specialized training in timber structures is an asset, but not required.
    • Construction/carpentry experience is an asset, but not required.
