Power Your Future with Qualus in our T&D Canada business as a Telecom Engineer. Reporting to the Telecom Engineering Manager, this position will be a hybrid role in our Vancouver BC office. You will play a key role in designing advanced telecommunication systems for transmission and distribution projects in the electric utility industry—from concept through construction. Prepare engineering design drawings and documentation as part of multi-disciplinary project teams under the guidance of a senior telecom engineer.
Collaborate with clients to ensure designs meet project scope and client needs while delivering quality work on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and ensure seamless discipline interface across the project.
Take ownership of your designs as the Professional of Record, adhering to professional standards within your field of practice.
Manage multiple projects with competing priorities effectively.
Share knowledge and workload with a geographically distributed team.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, external contractors, and client representatives to foster trust and collaboration.
Travel within Canada for field investigations and reviews as required.
Be a courageous safety leader, ensuring safety is never compromised in your designs or actions on the job.
Electrical Engineering degree from a recognized university
Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible to become one in British Columbia within 6 months.
4+ years of telecom and/or industrial networking experience, preferably in a utility or industrial setting.
Working knowledge of multiple technologies listed above.
Valid Class 4 Canadian driver’s license.
Eligible to permanently live and work in Canada.
Ability to work from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Consulting industry experience and familiarity with engineering documentation (drawings, specifications, bills of materials, estimates).
Experience with radio/microwave modelling and Industry Canada license applications.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and assessments.
Thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
