Job description

Type of position: Regular

Our future role on the team BBA is currently seeking an engineer in Pyrometallurgical Processes to provide high quality consulting services to its growing client base in high‑temperature metallurgical operations. As a Process Engineer, you’ll help develop process solutions and participate in studies aimed at defining new processes or supporting business development initiatives to modernise and decarbonise existing processes worldwide. You must have at least seven (7) years of experience in pyrometallurgical design and be able to explain and present your designs to client teams. Your practice will include designing complex metallurgical flowsheets and running simulations for operations, such as drying, pre‑reduction, pre‑heating, roasting, smelting, converting and fire refining. You’ll also need knowledge or experience in raw material handling and in managing process gases and fugitive emissions. Knowledge of acid plants and electrorefining would be an asset.

The experience you bring
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in metallurgy or chemical engineering from a recognised university
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in pyrometallurgical design and development in base, precious or specialised metals
  • Experience in high‑temperature process simulation or design, with a strong desire to keep up to date with design tools
  • Ability to register as a professional engineer in Canada
  • Active participation and representation of BBA at conferences and university events
  • Occasional travel within Canada or abroad required
