Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Operations, the Employee Health and Wellness Consultant will be responsible for the overall administration of the disability management program while building collaborative working relationships with external disability partners. The role involves providing advice, guidance and consultation, and acting as a resource to leadership and human resources by coaching around working with employees with health issues impacting the workplace, employees returning to work following medical leave, and/or requiring disability accommodation.

Responsibilities
  • Administer the disability management program.
  • Build collaborative relationships with external disability partners.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leadership and human resources on working with employees with health issues, return-to-work planning, and accommodations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and objectivity in handling disability-related information.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Post-secondary education in health sciences (nursing, social work, psychology, or other applicable social sciences).
  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related work experience including health service delivery, disability case management, and administrative functions in a multi-unionized environment across provincial jurisdictions.
  • CDMP designation or willingness to achieve it (asset).
  • Knowledge of provincial Workers Compensation Insurance, duty to accommodate, medical information provision, Human Rights, and privacy protections; commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
