About the Opportunity
This is a float role within the Corporate and Commercial Real Estate group, providing coverage for vacations, sick days, and workload overflow across the corporate team. The position offers exposure to a broad range of files, professionals, and practice areas, making it an excellent opportunity to strengthen skills and gain well-rounded experience in a fast-paced legal environment.

About the Position
Reporting to the Corporate group, the Legal Administrative Assistant will support lawyers, assistants, and paralegals across the department. The role involves a mix of administrative, transactional, and client-support duties, requiring strong organization, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Essential Functions include:

  • Providing vacation and sick coverage for assistants throughout the Corporate group
  • Assisting Corporate assistants and Paralegals with overflow and project-based work
  • Conducting BC Online and corporate online searches
  • Assisting with transaction closings, including scanning and photocopying
  • Managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and arranging travel
  • Assisting with client billings, preparing invoices, and account letters
  • Preparing expense reports
  • Maintaining up-to-date contact information
  • Liaising with internal clients (regional and firm-wide), lawyers, and staff
  • Performing additional administrative duties as required

Requirements
MUST HAVES

  • Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) Certificate
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an LAA in Corporate and/or Real Estate
  • Willingness to work in a float desk role supporting multiple teams

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in both Corporate and Commercial Real Estate practice areas
  • Experience with BC Online and corporate registry searches
  • Prior experience in a large or multi-practice law firm

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
  • Professional work ethic with a positive attitude

Compensation

  • Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000, based on experience and market conditions
