TEMPORARY- FULL TIME AND PART TIME - ASAP TO JUNE 30, 2026

The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish.

The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs. The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified ELEMENTARY TEACHERS – MUSIC for Full time and Part time positions. These positions are effective immediately to June 30, 2026.

Required TEACHER Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or academic equivalent in an appropriate field of study;
• Relevant methodology courses
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate
• Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies in order to meet the diverse needs of all students;
• Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies; and
• Recent, successful, substantive teaching or practicum experience in the relevant grade level

Required MUSIC Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Music, Music Education degree or academic equivalent
• A major concentration in music education in an applicable area such as Orff (Level II) or Kodaly
• Course work and/or knowledge of choral music instruction for young voices
• A Music education teaching methodology course(s) in the relevant areas
