As an Electronics Technician (ET) at Ross Video, you will be responsible for the successful troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and systems down to the board level, as well as from production fallout and customer returns. As an ET you will work closely with the manufacturing test development team to learn new products and work with production teams to support the tests systems. As an ET you will have the opportunity to work on variety of Ross Video Technologies and Products.

This position is based at our Iroquois, ON Manufacturing Facility.

What the job is all about:
  • Troubleshoot & recover the electronic products that fail from production and returned from customers.
  • Work with Production Managers and Supervisors for work prioritization to ensure that internal and external customer demands are met.
  • Perform production configuration, testing and calibration following established procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Use various pieces of bench top equipment and tools (hardware and software) to test and debug products.
  • Utilize the proper routing, rework, and knowledge base tools that help create a sustainable production system.
  • Works alongside product engineering to understand the new products and technologies.
  • Adhere to Ross Video Health & Safety Policies, and PPE Requirements.
Who you are:
  • Electronics Technician/Technologist diploma or completed a multi-year program in electronics.
  • Solid understanding of electronic theory and applications, with an emphasis on digital components such as CPU, FPGA, flash, etc.
  • Excellent foundation in schematic reading and interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and other command line interface with hardware.
  • Knowledge of JTAG technologies (IEEE 1149.1, 1149.6).
  • Familiar with a wide variety of test equipment (i.e.: high-speed scopes, video/audio generators/analysers, DVMs, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting languages such as AutoIt, TCL, C, C++, Python or equivalent.
  • Working proficiency of PC/Windows computer skills specifically related to network and serial interface and configuration.
  • Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and core business-use tools.
  • Knowledge of video and audio standards, and broadcasting would be an asset.
  • Ability to solder is preferred.
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule.
  • Exceptional technical abilities, high initiative, and well developed organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with varying levels of support and documentation.
  • Self-starter and quick learner and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., and to work in a manufacturing environment in an individual workstation, within a moderately noisy setting.
