Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer

Purpose of the job:

The EMC Engineer will support projects in the EMC field. Their task will be to ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of railway products designed and manufactured by the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce EMC design and manufacturing rules.
  • Prepare clause-by-clause responses to customer specifications during tenders, including associated cost estimates.
  • Develop EMC Transverse Requirements Specifications and EMC Control Plans within projects, defining requirements, activities, and tests.
  • Verify the design of products, including architecture, subsystem layouts, electrical interfaces, and cabling.
  • Prepare EMC test specifications and verify those from suppliers.
  • Verify manufacturing processes on prototypes or first equipment.
  • Perform EMC tests on test benches and on-site, providing test reports.
  • Compile EMC Compliance Files at project completion.
  • Address EMC issues encountered during projects.
  • Contribute to the development of guidelines, processes, design rules, and testing tools.
  • Propose and conduct EMC R&D actions.

Minimum requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree (BSc/MSc), preferably with specialization in EMC.
  • OIQ Member.
  • Over 5 years of EMC-related experience in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, military, railway, or building.
  • Advanced conversational/reading skills in French.
  • Advanced conversational/writing/reading skills in English are recommended.
  • Willingness to travel outside the Montreal area for work.
