Your work environment at EXP

EXP is seeking an Electrical Designer or Technologist to join our Mechanical/Electrical Buildings team in Hamilton, ON. You will join a diverse engineering group in Central Canada, with growth opportunities and challenging projects ahead.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts, and schedules under the supervision of senior engineers or project managers.
• Prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specifications, and contract administration documents under the supervision of senior electrical engineers or project managers.
• Conduct site surveys for existing conditions when required.
• Perform electrical calculations for systems as needed.
• Gather equipment information from suppliers and assist in equipment selection with input from senior designers.
• Attend site meetings during construction with senior staff.
• Contribute to system-level design and assist with general tasks, including designing power distribution, lighting/lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and other low-voltage systems (e.g., nurse call, public address/intercom) for building applications.

What your experience looks like

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience, preferably in building consulting engineering.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP is required; AutoCAD skills are desired.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
