Job summary

A childcare staffing solutions provider is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Hamilton. In this role, you will ensure the safety and development of children, create engaging programs, and maintain communication with parents and co-workers. An ECE Diploma and a police check are required. As a RECE, you will be responsible for guiding, teaching, and ensuring the safety of children between infant to school age at centres located in Hamilton region. Your responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing, and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining professional communication with parents and co-workers.

Working Conditions
  • Occasional light to medium physical effort; lifting, bending and stooping.

Responsibilities
  • Fulfill the lead teacher’s program and daily activities; if no plan exists, create and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
  • Promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being of children.
  • Provide supervision and prioritize the safety of children; understand and comply with CCEYA, public health and Sentient HR policies.
  • Facilitate and participate with children in planned activities.
  • Maintain and complete comprehensive documentation of children’s development and interactions.
  • Report issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with centre procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships and develop rapport through effective communication with peers.
  • Work cooperatively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario college
  • In Good Standing with the College of ECEs.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check (within 6 months)
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C
  • Familiarity with HDLH, AQI, and CCEYA
  • Reliable transportation within Hamilton.
