As a RECE, you will be responsible for guiding, teaching, and ensuring the safety of children between infant to school age at centres located in Hamilton region. Your responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing, and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining professional communication with parents and co-workers.

Working Conditions
- Occasional light to medium physical effort; lifting, bending and stooping.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill the lead teacher’s program and daily activities; if no plan exists, create and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
- Promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being of children.
- Provide supervision and prioritize the safety of children; understand and comply with CCEYA, public health and Sentient HR policies.
- Facilitate and participate with children in planned activities.
- Maintain and complete comprehensive documentation of children’s development and interactions.
- Report issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with centre procedures.
- Foster positive relationships and develop rapport through effective communication with peers.
- Work cooperatively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- ECE Diploma from a recognized Ontario college
- In Good Standing with the College of ECEs.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police check (within 6 months)
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Familiarity with HDLH, AQI, and CCEYA
- Reliable transportation within Hamilton.
