Position Overview

Brookfield Credit is seeking an experienced Director to lead its Fair Valuation and Pricing team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of valuation governance across public and private markets. The candidate will not be expected to maintain valuation models but will work closely with the investment teams and third-party valuation agents. The successful candidate will serve as an interface between Brookfield and its auditors, regulators and investors by playing a critical role in governance, transparency and reporting.

The ideal candidate combines outstanding communication, organizational and relationship management capabilities along with technical valuation expertise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly valuation process, working closely with the investment and investment operations teams to ensure all valuations are finalized, approved and accurately recorded in all relevant downstream systems.
  • Support investment teams in the valuation process, including preparing and analyzing data sets, maintaining a master database of document deliverables and timelines, and as required, assisting with onboarding new investments, liaising with valuation agents and other ad hoc requests.
  • Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly valuation reports for Valuation Committee meetings and for client reporting purposes.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the investment, investment operations and internal audit teams to maintain strong internal controls, regulatory alignment, and audit readiness pertaining to the valuation framework.
  • Conduct independent reviews and quality assurance checks on valuation work products to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established methodologies and best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during valuation testing and reviews, providing documentation, support, and responsive follow-up.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging valuation methodologies, and best practices to identify areas for improvement in the valuation processes and frameworks.
  • Demonstrate a curiosity and passion for emerging technologies to enhance valuation processes and drive operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA, Masters in Finance), CFA or CPA preferable.
  • Minimum 8 years of overall work experience, with experience overseeing credit valuation processes.
  • Deep understanding of fair value measurement principles and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex valuation inputs into clear, actionable conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical valuation concepts to senior stakeholders, clients, auditors, and regulators.
  • Strong familiarity with valuation and accounting systems and tools such as Aladdin, Intex, Yield Book, Clearwater, Bloomberg or similar.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team.
  • Proven ability to work in dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environments, with adaptability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
