Overview
Job Description: Director – Ski, Golf Course & RV Park
Reports To: Ownership / Executive Board/GM
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for year-round resort operations, including ski, golf, and RV park activities.
- Provide direction and mentorship to department managers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with ownership and executive teams on long-term planning, capital projects, and growth initiatives.
- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations across ski, golf, and RV divisions, ensuring smooth coordination between departments.
- Establish and enforce operational policies, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Monitor facilities, equipment, and infrastructure; plan preventative maintenance and upgrades.
- Financial & Business Performance: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets for each division.
- Maximize profitability through cost control, revenue optimization, and innovative guest programs.
- Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to ownership.
- Guest Experience & Service: Ensure world-class guest service across all areas of the resort.
- Respond to guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
- Promote resort amenities and develop packages to increase cross-utilization of ski, golf, and RV offerings.
- People & Culture: Recruit, train, and retain high-performing managers and seasonal staff.
- Build a safe, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
- Lead seasonal workforce planning, ensuring staffing levels meet operational demands.
- Community & Sustainability: Foster positive relationships with local communities, tourism boards, and regulatory agencies.
- Promote environmentally responsible practices in resort operations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA an asset).
- Minimum 8–10 years of senior leadership in resort, recreation, or hospitality management.
- Proven success overseeing multi-faceted operations (ski, golf, lodging, or similar recreational facilities).
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in resort operations.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, seasonal, and guest-focused environment
Working Conditions
- Year-round position with peak demands during ski and golf seasons.
- Requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during high season.
- Outdoor presence and visibility in resort facilities required.
