Job description
Overview

At KPMG, you will join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

We are seeking a marketing professional with bold ideas, a collaborative mindset, and strategic skills to redefine how Tax and Legal make their mark in the marketplace. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the Director, National Tax & Legal Marketing, is responsible for designing and executing a national marketing plan that sparks growth, enhances client relationships, and elevates brand prestige in one of our firm’s most dynamic areas. This is a high-impact leadership role blending creativity, strategy, and execution. The successful incumbent will be a collaborative, visionary leader who drives inclusivity, embraces diverse perspectives, and partners with Tax and Legal teams to turn business goals into impactful marketing initiatives.

This position will require frequent in-person attendance in our Toronto office.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the vision and direction of Tax & Legal marketing nationally, aligning with the firm’s strategy and growth agenda.
  • Serve as the trusted marketing advisor to the Tax and Legal leadership team, providing counsel and insight to inform go-to-market decisions.
  • Championing a culture of innovation—push boundaries, challenge assumptions, and ignite ideas that stand out.
  • Inspire, mentor, and lead a team, fostering creativity, ownership, and agility.
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution: Translate business goals into data-driven, insight-led marketing strategies that raise the brand and deliver results.
  • Design and execute integrated campaigns—balancing creativity and performance across digital platforms, content, sponsorships, events, thought leadership, and account-based marketing.
  • Develop marketing programs that build visibility and trust with buyers of tax and legal services across Canada.
  • Own the end-to-end marketing plan: manage budgets, channels, execution, optimization, and ROI measurement.
  • Lead with a digital-first mindset—emphasizing reach, relevance, and measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver best-in-class creative and campaigns.
  • Maintain brand integrity across all touchpoints while finding inventive ways to make the brand resonate with a wider audience.
What You Bring To The Role
  • A marketing professional with 10+ years of experience building and executing strategies that drive both brand equity and business results—professional services experience is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and creatively, with the confidence and skill to influence senior stakeholders and lead organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling brand narratives through storytelling and drive innovation in brand building, digital engagement, and demand generation.
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborator and coach, with a track record of fostering high performance in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.
  • Skilled in integrated marketing, focused on action and experimentation.
  • Comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities while maintaining focus on impact.
