Venor is proud to partner with the Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB) in the search for a Director of Information Technology Services. FCNB is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation, with a mandate to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace. With office locations in both Fredericton and Saint John, FCNB regulates securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, cooperatives, and more. Reporting to the CIO, this pivotal leadership role will modernize systems, strengthen cybersecurity, and deliver efficient, business-aligned IT services that support FCNB’s regulatory mission.

What you’ll be doing

Cloud Operations & Architecture

  • Lead the design, optimization, and ongoing management of cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems.
  • Develop and implement best practices for cloud security and cost optimization.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy.
  • Direct monitoring, incident response, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks and standards.
  • Manage organization-wide security awareness training.

Application Development & Support

  • Lead DevOps and application development teams to drive automation and integration.
  • Manage SaaS and third-party applications, ensuring performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with organizational goals.
  • Direct IT support operations, ensuring high-quality end-user experience.
  • Oversee IT service management (incident, problem, and change processes).
  • Manage IT asset lifecycle and software license compliance.

Leadership, Training & Coaching

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership as part of the organization’s senior leadership team.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop IT staff, fostering continuous learning and growth.
  • Guide performance management in alignment with organizational directives.
  • Define and implement strategies for data governance, compliance, and analytics.
  • Oversee business intelligence and enterprise-wide information management.
  • Manage data security, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education.
  • 10+ years of IT leadership experience spanning cloud, cybersecurity, DevOps, and application development.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in cloud architecture or cloud-native development.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience leading technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders effectively.
