Overview

Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as the Director at Camp Cedarwood. The Director will reside at the Camp, located at Pinawa Bay - Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Camp Cedarwood is a ministry of YFC Winnipeg that provides youth with a camp experience that is rooted in the Gospel with a focus on excellence, while allowing them to experience new and exciting opportunities through our programs and activities. A successful candidate will recognize that they play a significant and vital role in the success of Camp Cedarwood; your work will have an important impact on the young people and guests who attend and enjoy Camp Cedarwood’s facility and setting. If you are passionate about helping others and want to use your experience, skills, and knowledge to support the ministry of YFC in changing the lives of youth, this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the development and implementation of Camp Cedarwood ministry programs by supporting, equipping and empowering a team of staff and volunteers to accomplish the mission of Cedarwood.
  • Develop and lead a team to manage the 5 key departments of the camp (Ministry, Property/Maintenance, Food Services, Hospitality and Administration).
  • Ensure that the Camp Cedarwood site is properly stewarded and maintained to fulfill its purpose in accomplishing the mission.
  • Work alongside with YFC Senior leadership while giving oversight and direction to all areas of managing and overseeing the camp operations.
  • Ensure YFC’s mission is supported in all areas of camper and guest interactions year round.
  • Actively work to promote and grow the staff and volunteer team at camp.
Requirements
  • Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Be an active participant in the life of a local church.
  • Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission.
  • Able to live and work in a camp environment during part of the year while being flexible and patient in nature.
  • A post-secondary or Bible School education and a minimum of one year of ministry leadership experience would be an asset.
  • Embrace YFC’s core values with a strong heart for evangelism.
  • Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Take initiative, pay close attention to details, and be willing to adapt.
  • Able to work well in a team as well as on your own.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
