Job Description

We're looking for a motivated, quality-driven Dietitian to join our team in Niagara Falls. The Dietitian's primary function will be to work with a Menu System to meet nutritional requirements. The incumbent will exercise appropriate initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, methods, and actions on unusual matters. The position aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Dexterra and provides services within their scope of practice and competence.


Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assist with food/meal production
  2. Prepare trays/plates and distribute meals and snacks according to diet lists and patient preferences
  3. Prepare nourishments and carts for service
  4. Prepare supplements and thickening fluids for texture-altered diets
  5. Follow patient/client care plans and communicate discrepancies promptly
  6. Prepare and sanitize tables and serving areas
  7. Maintain a sanitary environment following infection control techniques
  8. Manage food handling protocols and infection control practices per legislation
  9. Transport dishes to/from patient rooms and kitchen
  10. Conduct daily and deep cleaning of dishes, utensils, and equipment used for meal services
  11. Manage inventory of patient and food service supplies
  12. Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to dress code policies
  13. Follow work routines and sanitation schedules
  14. Perform other duties as assigned to support patient and client care

Qualifications


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Completion of a Baccalaureate Program in Dietetics from a recognized university and full registration with the Dietitians of Canada
  • Baccalaureate in Human Nutritional Sciences or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, and practice
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Dietitian or in a related nutrition profession
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with menu planning software
