Job Summary

The Dehydration Principal Process Engineer and Product Champion will provide process engineering leadership, technical expertise and support to the project team, ensuring that technical excellence, cost, schedule and contractual requirements are achieved. It will be a hands-on position that involves testing / troubleshooting work with significant travel, both domestically and internationally. In sequence, this individual will be tasked to build a competent engineering team to support and grow the product line. The position will also include financial planning and accountability, and strategic marketing components as well.

This individual will initially report to the Director of Business Development as they will provide support to grow the product line, where it will eventually be turned over to the Production Manager. The Dehydration product line will have the full analytical support of the analytical department already established.

Responsibilities
  • Execute engineering activities with the objective of meeting the defined contractual scope to the relevant codes, standards and company procedures.
  • Provide senior onsite technical support for amine treating systems operators.
  • Build client relationships at the field and corporate level.
  • Support the Director of Sales and Marketing in product line budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Able to recruit and develop new staff.
  • Supervise engineering and technical staff including the development and support of a training program for the product line.
  • Present training materials at the Dehydration Experts technical training courses.
  • Participate in internal research and development and method development.
  • Plan and coordinate projects.
  • Perform field test tasks including sample point preparation, sample collection, data collection and sample analysis.
  • Lead field test projects including job setup, preparation and execution.
  • Conduct full range of engineering calculations.
  • Provide direct technical support and advice to external clients, including preparation and presentation of reports.
  • Collect and interpret data, including process simulation modeling.
  • Provide general support and assistance to senior team members.
  • Provide technical support to sales staff for determination of project scope.
  • Prepare reports and technical reviews.
  • Review engineering reports from other engineering staff.
  • Participate in company safety meetings.
  • Complete personal time sheets and expense reports.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized university with a bachelor’s degree in chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years’ experience working in a multi-project industrial setting in downstream oil and gas or related industry.
  • Minimum ten years dehydration and refrigeration experience.
  • Minimum two years amine experience.
  • In-house and/or large seminar presentation experience.
  • Appetite to grow and lead a product division.
  • Proven track record in supervising the work of other engineers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Successful participation in drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Commitment to safety and safe workplace practices.
  • This position is an in-office position.
