Department Overview

TD's Analytics, Insights and Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team provides consultative support with data & analytics-based business insights and/or solutions to guide decision making and/or strategic planning. AI2 is an exciting team to be a part of as we are transforming how we provide key insights and opportunities for our business partners to better serve our customers.

The Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) AI2 team supports the day-to-day activities of the CPB businesses, working with business partners to address their analytics needs by providing end-to-end support of data, reporting, analytics, insights, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Job Description

We are seeking a Data Scientist to support the CPB Operations group by driving end-to-end analytics initiatives while leading the delivery and performance monitoring of new AI capabilities. This role combines advanced analytics, business consulting, data engineering fundamentals, and AI delivery leadership. You will partner with the business to translate operational challenges into analytic and AI solutions, build the data foundations required for model development, and ensure deployed AI capabilities continue to deliver measurable value. This role is central to CPB Operations' performance management strategy and our multi-year roadmap to scale AI across Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a consultative role to provide value-added insights through data models, analysis, visualizations, and recommendations.
  • Partner with the business to understand needs, clarify problem statements, and translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for analytics and AI teams.
  • Represent AI2 in business initiatives; support business case development and help optimize operational strategies with analytics and AI insights.
  • Develop analytics solutions, dashboards, and insights that inform operational strategy and performance management.
  • Identify, source, and transform data to support both traditional analytics and AI/ML model development. Recommend data and solution designs that enable scalable AI capabilities.
  • Coordinate Agentic AI delivery with model developers, Layer 6, AI platform, and Operations partners.
  • Lead day-2 performance analysis for deployed AI capabilities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Operations stakeholders and act as a single point of contact for performance management analytics.
Job Requirements
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in a quantitative field; graduate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in data science, analytics, or AI/ML delivery roles.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL.
  • Experience preparing large/complex datasets for analytics or model development.
  • Strong data visualization skills (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Strong analytical foundation, including statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, forecasting techniques, and financial/operational analysis.
AI Delivery & Consulting Skills
  • Ability to translate business problems into technical/data requirements.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML delivery or cross-functional analytics projects.
  • Ability to recommend data solutions and contribute to model testing/monitoring.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communicator able to explain insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to frame data recommendations in terms of operational impact.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships and work independently.
Nice-to-Have (Optional)
  • Experience with TD internal cloud infrastructure and core systems.
  • Knowledge or experience of Generative AI capabilities and emerging AI technologies.
