Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Production Manager to lead and oversee the production of orthophotos, digital surface models (DSM), and related geospatial analytics from high altitude wide area imagery collection. This role is responsible for managing the full production lifecycle, from raw data intake to final product delivery, and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality control. The Production Manager will lead a team of technicians and analysts, coordinate resources, maintain production schedules, and implement best practices in geospatial data processing and delivery. Reporting to the President, they will be a key member of the IO Aerospace team.

You would thrive in this role if you like building and leading high performing teams, driving for continual improvements in efficiency, and can keep the big picture in mind while delivering on detailed objectives. As a Manager-level leader you can expect to working side by side with your team on data production, problem solving, and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workflow Management: Implement, optimize, and innovate, automated and semi-automated workflows for orthorectification, mosaicking, radiometric balancing, and quality control while maintaining high levels of throughput.Troubleshoot and resolve technical or workflow issues that arise during production.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and grow the data production team responsible for creating the digital products, analytics, and insights.
  • Project Oversight: Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables across multiple projects and clients.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control procedures to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance with specifications. Ensure all data products meet accuracy standards and client requirements.
  • Tool Development: Work closely with the engineering team to develop and refine custom tools for data processing and analysis.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, GIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in geospatial data production, including orthophoto and DSM processing.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, QGIS, and similar.
  • Strong understanding of aerial and satellite imagery processing workflows, including radiometric and geometric corrections.
  • Experience with DSM/DTM generation, image mosaicking, and handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, GDAL, etc.) for workflow automation is an asset.
Details
  • This is an in-person role at our Calgary office and the candidate must be already located in Calgary or the surrounding area.
  • Expected 40 hours per week
  • There is no travel expected for this role.
