Our client, located in Oakville, is searching for a Data Analyst to join their growing team. In this role your main responsibility will be to ensure data integrity between our client’s portfolio management system and various custodian systems, as well as assisting the team with trading support, client proposals and Investment Policy Statement preparation.
Position Responsibilities
Trading Support
- Scrub extracts from various systems and convert it into a clean dataset that will be used to make key investment decisions
- Assist trading team by delivering trade allocation instructions via SSCNET
Data Integrity
- Complete Daily Reconciliation responsibilities between the portfolio management system and custodians to ensure data integrity including flagging, researching and correcting reconciliation discrepancies
- Assist with Monthly/Quarterly/Annual fund distribution allocations to client accounts
- Perform data/system integrity and maintenance responsibilities on a regular basis including addition of new securities into portfolio management system and security book value reconciliations and updates
Client Portfolio Policy Development & Monitoring
- Work closely with the Wealth Planning team to create Investment Proposals that align with the prospective client’s drafted wealth plan and their indicated tolerance for risk
- Assist with client onboarding by preparing a Security Transfer-In Plan and Transfer-In Plan summary
- Prepare account opening summary for Client Service Team
- Prepare Investment Policy Statements originating from the previously prepared Investment Proposal
- Upload investment policy guidelines into the client’s portfolio management system
- Prepare exhibits for review at weekly Portfolio Implementation Team meetings
- Submit cash movement instructions to custodians on a regular basis
Client Reporting
- Assist with Quarterly Report preparation for clients including running reports within portfolio management system and reviewing reports for data integrity
- Assist with Annual Tax Package preparation including reconciling data and calculating tax allocation factors
Investment Compliance
- Develop an understanding of various regulatory and investment compliance responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of various reports to be submitted to the client’s Compliance Committee
Requirements
- Completed post-secondary education
- Completed Canadian Securities Course
- 3+ years experience in investment operations and/or portfolio analysis within a regulated Canadian Wealth Management firm
- Completed CIM/CFA is an asset
