Job description

We are seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support and strengthen our cybersecurity posture across on-premises and cloud environments. This contracted, onsite role focuses on implementing and monitoring advanced security controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and proactively identifying and mitigating cyber risks.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable One).
  • Ability to configure security tooling for threat detection, investigation, and automated response.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, JSON, KQL, Logic Apps, or similar scripting/automation languages.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001/27002, and applicable CSA security standards.
  • Experience with security monitoring, log analysis, and incident response.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on cybersecurity or IT security operations experience.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Level II (Secret) Security Clearance.
Education

University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and extensive cybersecurity experience.

Desired Skills
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or Microsoft Azure Security Engineer.
  • Experience in highly regulated or critical infrastructure environments (e.g., energy, nuclear).
  • Familiarity with ICT/SCADA environments.
