Job summary

A regional health centre in North Bay is seeking a Pharmacy Technician responsible for dispensing and compounding drugs under a Pharmacist's guidance. Candidates must be a regulated Pharmacy Technician with registration from the Ontario College of Pharmacists and possess strong computer skills, a valid driver’s license, and bilingualism in English and French is required. Qualifications

• Experience in hospital pharmacy automated technologies is an asset.

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing and compounding of drugs, as delegated by a Pharmacist, and the distribution component of Pharmacy Services, in keeping with the standards of Hospital Pharmacy practice.

Qualifications

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Regulated Pharmacy Technician (registration with Ontario College of Pharmacists) required
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset
• Experience in hospital pharmacy automated technologies an asset

Skills/Abilities:

• Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word) required
• Good attendance and work record required
• Valid driver’s licence required
• Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
