Responsibilities

• Scouting with Central Ontario FS over the summer to gain hands-on experience in agronomy.
• Use integrated pest management (IPM) techniques, satellite imagery and GPS technology to document notes from the field, including weeds, insects, diseases and other yield-limiting threats.
• Represent Central Ontario FS on the road and in growers\' fields. Be curious, ask questions, and maximize summer learning and contributions.
• Build knowledge and experience in the agriculture industry through practical field activities and training.

Qualifications

• Normally requires an individual currently enrolled in an agriculture-related college or university program, with a basic understanding of production agriculture.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver\'s license (Full G), a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to travel independently as needed.
• Occasionally exposed or required to work in extreme conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
• Must be able to walk crop fields and conduct visual inspections of crops.
• Ability and willingness to participate in required training related to the position and GROWMARK policies and procedures.
• May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
