About the job

This position is needed to help the Comms Engineering team build and maintain the communications platform used by thousands of customers worldwide to communicate through various channels. A successful candidate is passionate about designing developing deploying and operating software solutions at scale, a self-starter embodying a growth mindset and wants to help Twilio deliver the best user experience for next-generation communications.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software
  • Work with a small and collaborative team whiteboarding ideas building backend services and APIs
  • Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality
  • Support production operations building releasing and assisting with team on-call
  • Craft clear and concise documentation

Required
  • Bachelors and / or Masters degree preferable in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Go or Java
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
Desired
  • Experience using NoSQL databases like DynamoDB
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS including containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker Kubernetes)
  • Polyglot developer with the ability to work across multiple programming languages and frameworks as needed.
Location

This role will be remote and based in Ontario BC or Alberta Canada.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows :

  • Based in British Columbia. : $108000 CAD

The successful candidates starting salary will be determined based on permissible non-discriminatory factors such as skills experience and geographic location.
