Job summary

Une entreprise de services scientifiques recherche un(e) Coordonnateur(trice) Santé, Sécurité et Environnement à Québec. Vous serez responsable de la gestion des pratiques sécuritaires au sein des installations, de la coordination avec les autorités et de l'amélioration continue des programmes de SSE. Le candidat idéal a un diplôme en administration, au moins 3 ans d'expérience en HSE et parle couramment français et anglais.

Notre équipe continue de croître, et nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Coordonnateur(trice) Santé, Sécurité et Environnement (SSE) pour soutenir nos employés dans l’adoption de pratiques sécuritaires. Le ou la titulaire du poste sera responsable des fonctions liées à la santé, la sécurité et l’environnement pour l’ensemble des installations de géochimie de ALS au Québec. Son rôle consistera à coordonner et à assurer la communication des responsabilités et des programmes SSE entre les différents sites de l’entreprise. Le ou la coordonnateur(trice) agira également à titre de représentant(e) de l’entreprise auprès des autorités réglementaires et des instances locales, au besoin. Cette personne collaborera étroitement avec l’équipe SSE nord-américaine pour développer, soutenir et implanter des politiques, des initiatives et favoriser une culture SSE forte et intégrée.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Coordinate key elements of our Health, Safety and Environment (SSE/HSE) management system.
  • Sustain the SSE/HSE management by supporting the manager in the preparation of audits, regular reports, and incident investigations related to the SSE/HSE Management System of ALS / Geochemistry.
  • Provide support to the operations team on all SSE/HSE-related matters.
  • Undertake projects aimed at continuous improvement of SSE/HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Identify and support actions to improve site SSE performance using technical expertise, risk assessments, and current trends.
  • Work proactively with operations and authorities to manage claims, implement return-to-work plans and communicate with CNESST.
  • Conduct risk analyses as needed and monitor the effectiveness of control measures.
  • Contribute to SSE risk mitigation activities.
  • Leverage auditor expertise on procedures and legal requirements to advise managers and employees.
  • Lead SSE management reviews and act as an expert on SSE risks related to operations.
  • Participate in investigations of accidents and incidents and identify root causes.
  • Update internal records regarding accidents, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Deploy action plans to ensure ongoing compliance with legislation and ALS standards.
  • Communicate with provincial authorities regarding injury management, claims, and return-to-work plans.
  • Respect established safety regulations and comply with all ALS SSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • College or university degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE/SSE).
  • Bi-Lingual in French and English.
  • Demonstrated passion for HSE and related activities.
  • Attention to detail and rigorous standards.
  • Proven ability to meet work targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly while adhering to established processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the business and respond to contingencies.
  • Team-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive and healthy work environment.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 and related apps.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Physical Demands
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks and gloves, when required.
  • Able to sit at a desk and perform general office work, including sedentary tasks.
  • Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours/day.
  • Ability to communicate by phone and email independently.
  • Ability to travel to sites by car or plane.
  • ALS operates 24/7; the role requires day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends.
