The Opportunity

As a Coordinator Individual and Transitional Services at the Bennett Brook Disability Justice Centre (the Centre), you will oversee and supervise a team of operational staff to support eligible residents, found unfit to plea in the court system and placed on a custody order.

In this role you will oversee the support provided in line with Centre Resident’s Individual Development Plans, which involves the development of life skills, pro-social modelling, and positive behaviour support. Key to this is building and maintaining strong partnerships with individuals, families, key stakeholders, government, and non-government organisations, community, and cultural groups and support role also manages the day-to-day operations of the Centre and staff performance to ensure the team’s activities and operations meets legislation, policy, procedures, and processes and aligns with the Centre’s operating model.

Working with the Centre Manager and the multidisciplinary team including clinicians and Senior Aboriginal Liaison Officer you facilitate residents meaningful engagement and assist their transition back to community living by :

  • managing and supporting your team in delivering person-centred services and managing the performance and quality of operations and service delivery,
  • providing supervision to the staff in building individual and team capacity through effective communication, training, supervision, and performance development and ensure integrity in the delivery of services.

You will also assist to monitor the expenditure of the Centre’s financial and physical resources, while also managing risks by identifying, assessing and making changes, implementing safety and emergency procedures and leading by example.

There is currently 1 permanent position available for immediate filling.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months across the Department of Communities.
