Overview

We’re a growing low-rise home builder in Hamilton looking for a Controller to own the accounting function, deliver clean monthly reporting, and bring clarity to job costing, WIP, and cash flow. This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands construction cycles and wants to be a true business partner to operations and leadership.

What You’ll Own

• Month‑end close & reporting: accurate financials, KPIs, variance insights
• Job costing & WIP: budgets vs. actuals, cost‑to‑complete, margin by project/phase
• Cash flow & payments: weekly cash forecasting, AP oversight, holdbacks/progress draws
• Controls & compliance: policies/approvals, HST filings, audit/year‑end support
• Systems & process improvement: tighten workflows, improve visibility, reduce surprises

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years in accounting/finance; construction/real estate strongly preferred
• Strong experience with job costing + WIP and working with project teams
• CPA preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Strong Excel + accounting system experience; practical, detail-driven communicator
