Under the supervision of the laboratory director and in collaboration with the director of microbiology and their team (assistant director, managers, and scientific directors), the medical microbiologist or consultant microbiologist in infectious diseases acts as an expert advisor to support the laboratory's clinical and scientific activities.

The Microbiologist/Infectious Disease Specialist or the Consulting Microbiologist/Infectious Disease Specialist provides specialized expertise to ensure the scientific quality of analyses, support clinical interpretation, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide best practices in infection prevention and management. They act as an external resource for the scientific department and managers, providing strategic, clinical, and educational support.
