Job description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is a Construction Control Representative GS-0809-12 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

Duties
  • Incumbent serves as a Senior Inspector on complicated issues concerning the construction of major military construction projects, administering construction contracts expected to range fromapproximately $5 to $30 million dollars.
  • Coordinate the work with Contractors' personnel and representatives of the using service to assure timely and satisfactory accomplishment of all contracts.
  • Analyze problems and reviews and interprets the requirement of plans and specifications for Contractor representatives and other interested persons.
  • Exercise surveillance to assure the Contractor is conducting quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Provide information to Resident Engineer on estimates of work completed and reports on deficiency items and any contractual matters for which payment should be withheld.
  • Confer with Contractor's representatives on matters pertaining to interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Inspect safety precautions exercised by Contractors and suggests remedial measures, as required.
