A regional health organization in New Brunswick seeks a Community Development Advisor to enhance community health. The role involves fostering partnerships, engaging community members, and implementing health strategies. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in health or social sciences and 3+ years of community experience. Proficiency in communication and leadership is essential. Under the supervision of the manager and with the support of the health promotion coordinator or health promoter for their zone, this person works in partnership with their local communities. As part of the Public Health promotion teams, community development advisors repond to needs primarily related to the determinants of health. With community partners, interdisciplinary teams, and municipalities, they develop strategies designed to address the health needs identified by the community, such as through community health needs assessments (CHNAs), the Regional Resilience Committees' action plans, the Regional Service Commissions' (RSCs) strategic plans, and Public Health's priority areas for action. These strategies aim to increase the community's ability to promote better health for the population in the zone.
