Overview of the role
The Communications Advisor role is designed to support the Technology Portfolio communication needs under the guidance of the Senior Portfolio Manager. The role will help turn technical updates, program milestones, risks, and business successes into clear, engaging content for internal stakeholders and leadership.
Key Deliverables
- Draft, edit, and format regular portfolio communications: status updates, monthly newsletters, and leadership one-pagers.
- Support the team in elevating communications effectiveness, design and consistency.
- Support the creation and maintenance of executive presentations; building slides, refining charts, ensuring visual/design consistency, and incorporating feedback.
- Contribute to change management and adoption messaging for major initiatives (new tool roll-outs, process changes). Support establishing technology OCM practices.
- Support town halls and steering committees (agenda prep, speaker notes, run-of-show, live polling, recording minutes).
- Update and manage content on internal channels (SharePoint sites, Teams channels).
- Partner with Technology leadership to enhance team engagement and strengthen focus.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, English, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in corporate communications, internal communications, marketing, or a related function.
- Ability to take complex or technical input and simplify it for broader audiences.
- Comfort working with data and turning numbers into simple charts or callouts.
- Previous exposure to technology, IT project delivery, or Agile environments.
- Dexterity in simplifying highly complex scenarios into simple, digestible solutions.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Solid PowerPoint Slides skills and a good eye for clean, professional design.
- Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
- Excellent follow-through and ownership of tasks.
- Strong drive and tenacity, someone who values collaboration and problem-solving.
- Highly engaging and effective communicator.
