Starting Base Salary: $67,500/year + commissions

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Commercial Account Representative is responsible for furnace oil, diesel, gasoline, lubricant and cardlock sales covering the Eastern Nova Scotia area. The successful candidate will demonstrate industry leading outside sales management skills and is responsible for maximizing revenue by creating, managing and implementing best in class sales development activities, acquiring/maintaining new accounts as well as retaining existing accounts to maximize growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve Commercial sales and margin sales targets for Commercial Fuels business with approximately 80% of time on prospecting for new business and 20% managing existing business.
  • Work closely with operations and support functions to facilitate solutions for the customer. Track volumes, number and margins by reviewing sales reports.
  • Keeps up-to-date and maintains understanding of oil codes, transportation tank regulations, federal and provincial guidelines for tank and petroleum storage and the company safety regulation.
  • Performs various administrative duties including preparing expense and commission reports using Excel.
  • Willingness to travel with some overnights required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial sales experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, bilingual an asset.
  • Formal sales training, either on the job or formal courses.
  • Industry and product specific knowledge of distillate fuel is an asset.
  • Results oriented, good attitude to prospect and identify opportunities for success.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service required.
  • Flexible, goal-oriented, time management and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
